Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Vince The lazy susan turret bearing is a late edition to the design - the first models didn't have this bearing. I would try reversing the direction of the bracket as Adrian suggested. If that doesn't work a notch may be needed. Looks like the engine deck support plate has been notched already. I'm ...

Re: Lathe /Milling machine advice

John Very cool machines. You can do a lot with those! I'm anxious to see what you make with them. I've been eyeing that little Proxxon mill myself. Would be super nice for small little detail parts. I have a high RPM pillar drill, for drilling small holes in brass, but it has no X-Y positioning capa...

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Vince You are making good progress. Your Tiger is looking fantastic. There should be enough clearance between smoker and battery with 25mm or so, but you could add a thin alum sheet wall to act as heat sink if you wanted. Looks like your batteries are secure but sometimes they can move/slide a bit. ...

Re: Panzer Ace Book

Agree this a good book. Would like to know more about his post war career. He's one of the few to survive the eastern front and live to write a book about it. The Normandy details are interesting, but sadly too brief.

Re: Armortek on TV !

Wish my wife would bully me into buying more Armortek models. Especially ones for "her" to use. LOL.

Looks like a fun bit - your moment of fame!

Re: Lathe /Milling machine advice

John Looking forward to seeing what you make with those. They will be a great compliment to your already impressive brass sheet metal parts. Even for small machines they are quite hefty weight wise. The little lathe spec says 150lb, Mill nearly 250lbs  Some of that must be the crate and packi...

Re: Lathe /Milling machine advice

John, I can only add what others have said: 1) Get bigger than you think you need (if budget and space allows). Its nice to work on bigger parts than you think you normally would. The WM240 is a nice looking lathe, but still pretty small <at least for my needs>. 2) DRO definitely on a mill. You can ...

Thanks for the pix Steve, I was hoping to at least get to offer a bid on it? :D :D :D Any more pix of her? Sorry to be greedy - but you build a masterpiece, get her 95% finished then we never see it again. LOL. Its too nice not to share? I know its a pain to post pix. Did you take off the steel trac...

Re: The Littlefield collection.

Brian Great pictures! I was lucky enough to see the Panther finished and meet Mr Littlefield before his untimely passing. It was indeed a great collection. The Flying Heritage collection (owned by late Paul Allen) here in Seattle has bought some of Jacques collection. Well worth a trip up here for t...
